Why "the" was used before "rain"?

When a particular event of "rain" has already happened and is being mentioned, it is common to refer to it using the article "the". In the case of the video here, they say "the rain" to indicate that they are describing past events of rain, either specific events or previous events in a more general sense. Here's some examples of this: Ex: The rain last night was heavy. Ex: The temperature of Brazil is nice but the rain is not. In the second example, you can use "the" before "rain" because even though it is more generally referring to rain in Brazil, it is indirectly describing events of rain in Brazil that have already happened.
