In English, they use "foot" to describe the height, but why is that? Is foot related to height?

Good question! This measurement system (feet, inches) is called the imperial system, which actually originated in Britain. 1 foot is 12 inches, which is equal to 30cm. 1 inch is about 25mm, or 2.54cm. This system is still used in America, but has been replaced in many other former British colonies/Commonwealth countries with the metric system (centimetres, metres, kilometres, etc.).
