What's the main difference between "show", "demonstrate" and "perform?"

If you "demonstrate" something, you are displaying a method or act of doing or using something. A "show" is to have someone see something, and is often used in relation to entertainment. To "perform" is to carry out or complete an action. But "perform" can also mean to present entertainment to an audience. Depending on the context, it can be suitable to use more than one of these words! Ex: I'll show you the gift I got from my friend. Ex: That was an amazing show! => entertainment = That was an amazing performance! Ex: She didn't perform well in the concert. => entertainment Ex: Let me demonstrate to you how to use this appliance. = Let me show you how to use this appliance.
