As a verb, "harness" means to control and make use of something, usually to make energy. Ex: Wind turbines harness the wind to create energy. Ex: When I went sky diving, they had to put a harness on me to attach the parachute. Ex: The horse's harness fell off while we were driving the cart. Ex: I put my harness on and started climbing the wall. => rock climbing
