To "snoop around" means to look around privately or secretly about/for someone, especially in places where one shouldn't be. For example, let's say your parents were looking around in your room when you weren't home. That would be called "snooping around"! Ex: I think someone was snooping around in my apartment. Everything is messy. Ex: Don't go snooping around where you shouldn't.
