Here, "go through" means search through or examine something, usually methodically. It can also mean to experience a difficult period or situation or to use up one's resources or money. Ex: We went through the whole tub of ice cream last night. => they finished the whole tub of ice cream Ex: I'm going through these files to find information on the company. Ex: I went through such a hard time last year when I lost my job.
