Here, "whatsoever" is an adverb that means "at all" or "in any way". It's generally used for emphasis! It's also an adjective that means "whatever" in a slightly more formal way. Ex: We made no money whatsoever at the market today. Ex: Whatsoever he chooses, he'll have to live with the consequences. => whatever Ex: The coach said we can't do badly in this competition whatsoever.
