The Commonwealth is an association of countries that includes the UK along with other countries that were previously part of the British Empire, and its dependencies. Queen Elizabeth was the symbolic head of the Commonwealth, and her son King Charles is now the head of the Commonwealth. There are currently 54 independent countries in the Commonwealth, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Malaysia, Kenya, Barbados, and so on. Ex: The head of the Commonwealth only holds symbolic power. Ex: Commonwealth countries all across the world held funeral ceremonies after the passing of the Queen.
