By "shoot your way out of it", he means that they won't be able to solve or escape the problem by firing guns! In other situations, they may have been able to get out of a fight or problem using their weapons, but this time they can't. Ex: I'm sorry Lilly, you have to take the test. You can't talk your way out of this. Ex: If I get into a fight, I'll shoot my way out of it.
