Here, "hang up" means to end a phone conversation. It also means placing something on a hook or hanger. For phones, it comes from when phones used to be connected to wires, and you'd literally hang the phone up to cut the connection. Now we use it for mobile phones too. Ex: She hung up on me without saying goodbye. Ex: I'll hang up 10 minutes before my meeting. Ex: You can hang up your jacket here.
