What does "one will sink" mean? Is it a common expression?

"To sink" means that something goes below the surface, usually the surface of a liquid. It can be used metaphorically for anything that is going in a downward direction as well. It is commonly used for things that normally should not go below the surface of bodies of water. Ex: The Titanic hit an iceberg and sank to the bottom of the ocean. Ex: Our boat will sink if we don't fix it soon.
