Can I say "lots and lots of meetings" to skip "of"? Does the meaning change?

The word "of" is necessary in this expression. It would not be grammatically correct to say "lots and lots of" without "of" here. The expression "lots and lots of" is the same as saying "lots of" but a little stronger since "lots" is repeated twice. Ex: I have lots and lots pets.
