student asking question

Would it sound awkward if I say "silent" instead of "quiet" in this context? If so, could you tell me why these words have different connotations?

It would sound awkward! Sure thing, I'll gladly explain the difference! In the context of a place or location, If things are "quiet" it means not much happens there. There aren't many activities or drama, and it doesn't directly refer to the noise levels. "Silent" in this context means to make no sound at all. Ex: The shop has been pretty quiet today. Maybe things will pick up tomorrow. Ex: I went to a silent disco! Everyone listened to music with headphones while dancing. Ex: The house has been quiet since you've been gone.
