What's the main difference between a "bill" and a "law?"

Good question! You can basically think of a "bill" as the step before a "law" - a bill is a proposed law that is being considered by legislature. Once it passes in both heads of government (which differ depending on the country) and is approved by the head of government (such as a president or prime minister), it becomes a law! Ex: The proposed bill for gun control will likely pass. Ex: There are new laws concerning epidemic control.
