"CE" stands for common/current era, which is used to refer to the years after the birth of Christ. Thus, every year after 0 CE is considered to be part of the current era. Note that it means the same thing as "AD," which is also used to denote year. Ex: The castle was built in 630 CE. Ex: This road has been traversed by travellers since it was built in 500 AD.
