Good point! They do seem similar. So, "dose" refers to the singular recommended unit that one takes at a point in time. "Dosage" refers to the required and recommended amount of medicine to take. Ex: I'll take my next dose of medicine at lunchtime. Ex: The recommended dosage is two tablets every four hours. Ex: The doctor recommended the dosage of a tablet in the morning and a tablet at night. I just took the first dose in the morning.
