"Slow down" means for something to happen or move more slowly, perhaps slower than what is possible, or to go slower than before. You can use it to tell someone to do something slower or to indicate the progress of something being slower. Ex: The car slowed down in front of us and we almost crashed. Ex: Can you slow down? You're walking too fast. Ex: Our production has slowed down since the strikes began. Ex: Grandma's slowed down a lot since she's been sick.
