Native speaker’s answer

"Sight" is more used to refer to things or people who are beautiful, or to the act of "seeing" itself. Meanwhile, "view" is more often used to refer to scenery or that which is visible by the eyes, and is often used to refer to that which can be seen in the distance. Ex: What a sight for sore eyes. I'm so happy to see your face! Ex: This hotel room has such a great view. You can see the mountains from here!
