You can use "doom" when something negatively and seriously affected someone or something, causing their or its downfall, ruin, or destruction. There's a common phrase that's used "we're/someone is doomed," when you can tell something will go wrong. It's informal and a little dramatic! Ex: I'm doomed because I didn't finish my homework which is due today. Ex: This court case is likely to be his doom due to all the terrible things he's done. Ex: Our project was doomed from the start.
