"Ticker-tape" is a very old-fashioned medium of communication, where stock finances and other messages were transmitted over telegraph lines and then printed on a strip of paper. In the case of the video here, they refer to "ticker-tape" to solve cases because they receive distress calls through the ticker-tape.

Ex: My parents said my curfew is nine pm, so I have to be home by then. Ex: The building has been on lockdown as a security measure. No one can leave or enter until security has cleared the place.
