Shouldn't it need "the" in front of "funniest" because it is the superlative form of "funny"? Or is it okay to skip "the" in verbal form?

There should be a "the" in front of "funniest" for the sentence to be grammatically correct. However, he skips "the" here because he is speaking in a casual way.
