Kiwi asks…

What does "fire" mean here?

Answer from a Native speaker

teacher

Rebecca

Great question. When we used the word "fire" in this context it means to make someone leave their job. "Fire" implies that someone has been let go from work because of some problem that was fault rather than a fault of the company. Ex: She was fired because she was always late for work. Ex: I've never been fired from a job. I'm a very good worker.
