Kiwi asks…

What does "get off one's feet" mean?

Answer from a Native speaker

teacher

Rebecca

"Get off one's feet" means to sit down so that you can rest your feet. It usually means that you have been standing for a long period of time, your feet hurt, and you want to sit down for a little while. Ex: Sit down, get off your feet for awhile. Ex: I really need to get off my feet. Ex: She is on her feet all day at work. I bet at the end of the day she wants to get off her feet and just relax.
