Kiwi asks…

What's the difference between "go to hell" and "I'll see you in hell"?

Answer from a Native speaker

teacher

Rebecca

Both of these statements are considered insults and threats. The difference between the two is "go to hell" is an angry way to reject someone. When you tell someone to "go to hell" you are expressing your anger and/or hatred towards him or her. Ex: You can just go to hell! Ex: I hate her. She can go to hell. "I'll see you in hell" is a threat towards someone that you are going to do something to him that will send him and you to hell. Ex: I will see you in hell you jerk! Ex: I'll see her in hell.
