Kiwi asks…

What does "descriptive" mean here?

Answer from a Native speaker

teacher

Rebecca

To be "descriptive" means to be more expressive or to give detailed descriptions. Here, the speaker is asking the captain to give more detail and to be more specific with his answer. Ex: A: What did the suspect look like? Please describe him. B: He was very short and wore a hat. A: Can you be more descriptive? B: He was wearing a blue hat and jeans. He looked to be around fifty years old.
