"I know what I'm doing" is a way of telling someone that you know and are able to do the task that is necessary. It is a way of saying you are familiar with the steps to take and therefore you don't need any help from anyone, nor do you need instructions on how to do it. Ex: I don't need any help. I know what I'm doing. Ex: Don't worry, I know what I'm doing.
