Since the word "oh" is an exclamation, would it be okay to say "no" instead of "oh no"?

Good question! The whole phrase "oh no!" is an exclamation itself. If you were to say "no!" It would still be used as an exclamation in this situation. Ex: No! I ruined my dress by spilling juice on it. Ex: Oh. I didn't know that happened. Ex: Oh no! We've run out of cake!
