Kiwi asks…

Does the word "grin" refer to an "evil smile" that has a nasty intention?

Answer from a Native speaker

teacher

Rebecca

Actually, the verb "to grin" doesn't have any negative connotations whatsoever! It simply means to smile widely, and can be used in a positive way as well! Ex: She grinned when she saw the cute puppy towards her. Ex: He gave me a cheeky grin.
