What's "yaller" mean? I've never seen this word before!

This is a word you won't see often as it is an eye dialect spelling of yellow. With eye dialects, we purposely misspell words to emphasize the way that they are pronounced. In the Southern states of America, they might say yaller instead of yellow. Ex. I love her yaller coat. = I love her yellow coat. Ex. Yaller is my favorite color. = Yellow is my favorite color.
