"Bed situation" isn't a common phrase. Here, it's used to refer to the scene and happenings when El is talking to her dad on her bed. "Situation," informally, can refer to an event, scene, or happening. But it's only really clear if it's assumed the person knows the context already, otherwise it's quite vague. Ex: I don't like the pizza situation happening downstairs. The room is a mess. Ex: How's the music situation going? => perhaps referring to a performance, or an album
