What is the meaning of "night owl"?

A "night owl" is slang for someone who is more active during the night. This is usually a person who sleeps quite late or prefers to do things during the night time. Ex: I'm a night owl, so I never go to bed before 2 AM. Ex: I'm a morning person, but my husband is a night owl. We have very different sleeping schedules.
