"Made the team" is the past tense of "make the team". "Make the team" is used when someone has been selected to play on a sports team. Ex: I'm so excited! I finally made the baseball team. Ex: I guess I wasn't skilled enough to make the team this year. Ex: He was sure he would make the team.
