Kiwi asks…

As for "breaks", is it always used in plural form?

Answer from a Native speaker

teacher

Rebecca

No, not always! If someone's talking about a specific "summer break" or just one "break," then "break" would be used, since It's a countable noun! Ex: What are you doing for your summer break? Ex: I get four breaks every year. Some are shorter than others.
