What's "in retrospect" mean?

"In retrospect" means to look back in time and consider things differently- to reflect on the past. One could also use "in hindsight." Ex: In retrospect, I should have studied law. I regret studying marketing. Ex: You know, in retrospect, I should have packed lunch for the trip.
