Does it change the meaning of the sentence if I use "I'm supposed to meet the bears" instead of "I'm supposed to be meeting the bears"?

That does not change the meaning of the sentence at all! Both tenses work in this context. Ex: I'm eating dinner soon. Ex: I'll eat dinner soon.
