In bitsè un'espressione che significa essere estremamente arrabbiati o delusi per qualcosa. È comunemente usato nell'inglese britannico e in piecesè più comune negli Stati Uniti. Esempio: Her heart was broken into bits after he left her. (Da quando se n'è andato, il suo cuore è andato in frantumi.) Esempio: She was in bits when her cat ran away. (Il suo cuore è stato spezzato da quando il suo gatto è scappato.) Esempio: The children were in bits when their parents got a divorce. (I bambini sono rimasti molto delusi quando i loro genitori hanno divorziato)
