Qui, l'oratore non si limita a dire sorryscusarsi o esprimere rammarico. Questo per ribadire un'affermazione fatta in passato, correggendo o intervenendo. Questo perché Sorryin inglese significa anche scusami (excuse me). Quindi, funge anche da poscritto per interrompere per un po' il flusso della frase. Esempio: I went on vacation a month, sorry, two months ago. = I went on vacation a month, excuse me, two months ago. (Sono andato in vacanza un mese fa, oh, scusate, è stato due mesi fa.)
