The phrase "what do you dream of" is asking what you see in your dreams, what is the content of your dreams. Whereas the phrase "what do you dream for" is asking what is the purpose of reason for dreaming. Basically it is the same as saying why do we dream. Ex: A: What do you dream of? B: Usually I dream about flying. Ex: A: What do we dream for? B: I don't know. I'm not a scientist.
