An "aficionado" means someone enthusiastically interested in, knows about and is passionate about a particular subject. You can use it to describe yourself or others who are well versed in a subject and are passionate about it! Ex: She's a music aficionado. She knows the names and artists of most songs and can even tell you a bit about their history. Ex: I'm getting my friend perfume for her birthday since she's a fragrance aficionado. Ex: I'm a bit clueless when it comes to books, so I've asked my friend who's a book aficionado to help me out.
