"For what[ever] it's worth" is an informal expression that people use when they want to warn that the information they are about to give may not necessarily be helpful, but they will share it anyway. In essence, you say this as a type of "disclaimer" to precede some information you want to share, whether it is helpful or not. Ex: For what it's worth, I'll be there for you if you ever need me. Ex: For what it's worth, I think you did a great job, even if you didn't win.
