What's the main difference between "reside" and "live?" Could you give me some examples?

The main difference between the two is that "reside" is just slightly more formal than "live." They both mean to have permanent residence somewhere or for a considerable time. Ex: People who work in the city reside in the suburbs. = People who work in the city live in the suburbs. Ex: I'm traveling around at the moment, but I actually live in Paris. Ex: Actually, I reside in Paris. I've just taken a year for traveling.
