Would it sound awkward if I say "brawl" instead of "fight" in this sentence?

Yeah, it might sound a little awkward! A "brawl" is a very specific kind of fight. So it only fits a few contexts. A "brawl" is a noisy and rough fight or quarrel. A sword fight might not necessarily be rough or noisy. Ex: There was a brawl in the bar last night. Ex: John got into a brawl on the street and is in the hospital now. Ex: Don't go starting any brawls while you're drunk. Ex: A couple of students had a brawl in the classroom, and they got in trouble.
