Assertiveness refers to confidence and boldness through one's words and behavior. When you are being assertive, you are being forceful with your actions and are showing that you aren't afraid to share your opinions and ideas with others. This is related to the other characteristics mentioned by the speaker here, strength and authority. Ex: It is important to be assertive in the workplace, so people don't take advantage of you. Ex: I am a shy person, so sometimes it is difficult for me to show assertiveness.
