Here, "fit" means a suitable quality or standard. It's used when you want to describe the quality of something in relation to something else. Ex: This dress isn't fit for a ball. Ex: I would say this food is fit for a king! That's how good it is. Ex: I'm not fit to play in the A team. I should be on the B team.
