To "get something right" means to understand it or to be accurate about your interpretation of something. This expression is used in a situation where you want to clarify or double check your understanding of what someone has said. Ex: Let me get this right, if I win, you'll give me $1,000? Ex: Let me get this right, you're going to drop out of school if you fail your exam?
