Is "sentiment" same as "emotion" or "feeling"?

They're similar! There's a slight nuance between them. "Sentiment" is "emotions" that are overly emotional or "feelings" that are self-indulgent - they cater for your own needs in the moment. A "sentiment" can also be an opinion or thought on something. Ex: My sentiment is that the project will be too time-consuming. => thought or opinion Ex: Don't let sentiment get in the way of living life well. = Don't let intense emotions get in the way of living life well.
