Just curious, but is it not allowed to use a comma in front of the word "and"?

It would be considered grammatically incorrect to have a comma in front of the word "and". Even if there is a pause in the speech, the written sentence still continues with the conjunction "and". There can be a comma before the word "and" if it adds a clause to the sentence or if you are listing more than two things. Ex: He was funny and smart! Ex: I'm getting some bananas, apples, and oranges from the store. Do you need anything? Ex: I was having such a good time, and then Judah came in.
