What does "rock and roll" mean? I think I've seen this phrase in some places like "Hard Rock Cafe", but I still do not understand what it means.

"Rock and roll" is a music genre that comes from the 1950s! It means to kind of move to the rhythm of the music. It also directly references the music in that era which was very popular and cool. So it has that tone to it! People use "rock and roll" as a way of saying "let's move" or "get going" energetically. Ex: That is a very rock and roll outfit you have on. => cool Ex: I'm so excited about this trip! Let's rock n' roll! Ex: I used to listen to rock and roll when I was growing up in the '50s.
