"Struck down" means to hit someone and make them fall. It can also mean to make someone die or become ill, and it can mean for a judge or court to end a law. Here, he's saying someone hit her, and she fell down. Since it was her "doom," we can assume that it either really hurt her or she died. Ex: He accidentally struck down a player when he swung the cricket bat. Ex: The court is voting to strike down that law tomorrow.
