Just curious. Is there a "keep it down", too?

There is! Although it means something quite different. When one says "keep it down," it means that they're telling someone to be quiet or to not make too much noise. As to keep the noise levels "low." Ex: Keep it down, Johnny. Your sister is studying. Ex: The teacher went into the classroom and told the students to keep it down.
